That's right— the title of this article was well considered and the words well chosen. Healing is part of your divine new-birthright. But the devil won't tell you that! If you listen to him, he'll tell you God can't, or He can but he won't. Don't believe it, it's a lie straight from hell. God's Word says differently. Now, the question is, who are you going to believe? Are you going to believe the devil when he says God can't, He doesn't, or He won't? Or are you going to believe the word of the one, true, living God? The choice is yours. And therefore, the choice of whether you will be healed or not is yours also. That's right, God has already done all that He's going to do 2000 years ago about sickness and disease on the cross. But don't get discouraged, get happy. He's already provided for your healing, you just have to learn how to receive it.
The First Step
The first step to receiving your healing, the healing that's already been paid for and provided for, is to realize it is part of what Christ already bought and paid for on the cross. But before we go on, let's establish something: The Word of God is absolute. There is no mistake or error in it. "But know this first of all, that no prophecy of Scripture is a matter of one’s own interpretation, for no prophecy was ever made by an act of human will, but men moved by the Holy Spirit spoke from God." (II Peter 1:20,21) And again, in II Timothy 3:16, "All Scripture is inspired by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, for training in righteousness." The point is if God says it in His Word, you can believe it.
Yes, your healing is guaranteed, bought and paid for in advance, if you will just believe, stand on, and speak God's Word on the subject. The prophet Isaiah, 700 years before Christ died on the cross, heralded all that Christ would die and pay for:
(4) Surely our griefs He Himself bore,
And our sorrows He carried:
Yet we ourselves esteemed Him stricken,
Smitten of God, and afflicted.
(5) But He was pierced through for our transgressions,
He was crushed for our iniquities:
The chastening for our well-being fell upon Him,
And by His scourging we are healed.
(Isaiah 53:4,5 [NASB, emphasis added])
These two verses are so pregnant with meaning, that whole books could be written on just these verses, but for the sake of this discussion, we'll concentrate on this last verse that guarantees our healing if needed. And why is this so important, that we know this— that our healing is guaranteed and already provided for? For in order to receive anything from God you first have to believe it or have faith in it. So get it down in your spirit, your healing was paid for on the cross 2000 years ago. Now it's up to you to take it.
How To Receive
"So how do I take it?" you might be asking. The way we are to receive all of God's blessings— through His process of Seedtime and Harvest. And how is that? Well, first you take His Word, this Word and sowit. How? Quite simply, you "eat the Word." That's right, you take it in any and every way you can. You read it i.e., "and by His scourging we are healed," and reread it, you hear it over and over. Next, you speak the Word. That's right, you speak it out loud. (13) "But having the same spirit of faith, according to what is written, 'I believed, therefore I spoke,' we also believe, therefore also we speak." (II Corinthians 4:13) Look, you don't have to know how God's way works, you just have to do it— follow His instruction on the matter. So the next thing we do is speak the Word, His Word.
But if you don't believe that healing is truly yours, you're not going to be able to receive it. It's a fact of God's kingdom that you receive through faith. That is, without faith, you can't receive. How did you get saved? Did you get saved outside of faith? Of course not. You took God's word on the subject, that He did what He said He did and is the Jesus of the Bible. You see, the same way you got saved is the very same way you receive your healing. "For with the heart man believes, resulting in righteousness, and with the mouth he confesses, resulting in salvation." (Romans 10:10) You got saved by believing His Word and confessing it with your mouth— and that's how you receive His healing that's already bought and paid for or anything else He died for. It's even the same Scriptures that tells you so, Isaiah 53:4,5!
God really wants to get this down in your spirit, that by His stripes (scourging) you are already healed. (That's first in the spirit, and the spirit is always preeminent over the physical, or comes first). Remember, Isaiah was looking forward to the cross. But the following Scripture in the book of I Peter was written looking back at Christ's work on the cross: "And He Himself bore our sins in His body on the cross, that we might die to sin and live to righteousness; for by His wounds you were healed." (I Peter 2:24 [emphasis added]) In Isaiah 53, He said by His stripes or scourging we are healed. That is indicating to us that faith must be applied to this statement— for faith is always in the present. In the case of I Peter 2:24, God says that by His wounds you were healed, indicating that the work on the cross is finished, as in already done. Are you getting the idea that God really wants you to understand that this is a done deal if you will but follow His instructions on receiving, and take Him at His word, that is His Holy Word? I should say He does.
Don't Settle For Less Than God's Best
What is it that you have been putting up with in your life that the devil has put on you as a sickness or infirmity? Why not draw a line in the sand right now, and decide that you're not going to have anything less than God's best in your life. Why not decide right now that you're going to be a receiver of God's blessing of healing that He's already paid for. Start putting the Word of God on the subject of healing into your heart and start believing Him and taking Him at His word. Start right now to speak out loud, consistently every day, that very same Word of God. Who cares what others may say if they hear you? After all, the only opinion that matters is God's anyway! But make no mistake about it, He wants you to receive healing. How do we know? Look at the price He paid for it.
